Mission Statement
First Baptist is a Great Commission Church. Matthew 28:19-20 is the commissioning that we believe Christ placed with our church. As a local church, we are to go, preach, baptize, and disciple. This is the corporate responsibility of the church.
Our specific responsibility in this commissioning is to provide a Christian education to a homogeneous group of young people. Thus, the role of Community Christian School is primarily the discipleship aspect of this commissioning. Truly we rejoice 
when one of our students comes to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ; however, our school's task is not to evangelize greater Port Charlotte. Evangelizing is the primary task of our church's outreach ministries. All of us working together, each doing their own part, will help us accomplish our overall mission.
Accordingly, the mission of Community Christian School is to provide a quality Christian education in a Christcentered environment that our students may become spiritually mature and impact their world for Jesus Christ.
History
In 1983, First Baptist Church had a desire to provide an educational environment for K-4 through 8th grade, in which achieving one's best and developing godly character were synonymous. In 1995, high school classes were added and our first graduating senior class was in 1999. Today the staff, students, and parents of CCS benefit from the vision and faith of its founders. Serving young people from all areas of Charlotte and neighboring counties, representing over 57 churches, CCS provides classes for K3-12th grades.
Christian Education

Only God-centered education gives true wisdom and understanding. Scripture is integrated into every subject at Community Christian School. Our students are taught more than mere facts...they are taught character qualities and morals that will not only prepare them to meet the challenges they will face in the world, but also to influence others for Christ.
Sports
The athletic program at CCS gives the student athlete another avenue in which to develop mentally, physically, socialy, and spiritually. This is accomplished through cultivating stewardship of time and abilities, and by developing discipline and spiritual character.
Currently, our athletic program includes soccer, volleyball, basketball, track & field, golf, and cheerleading.
