What to Expect

We know that choosing a church family can be a tough decision. You may be looking to find a place to develop life-long friendships and relationships;  or for a relevant message addressing concerns in your life;  or maybe you are looking for a church that has ministries for everyone in your family.  Whatever you are looking for, we believe we can be an encouragement to you and your entire family no matter where you are in life's journey.  If you are looking for a church family, join us for one of our worship services.  We look forward to meeting you.

When you arrive on Campus…

… turn on your hazards and our parking attendants will escort you to the visitors parking lot. Once inside, you will be welcomed by our greeters who will direct you to the worship center as well as answer any questions you may have. In addition, they will offer to show you our adult classrooms or our student/children's ministry areas.

If you have a baby…

… you are welcome to bring your infant into the worship center; should your baby get fussy, please know that you may bring them to the lobby and watch the service on the monitor. We also encourage you to take advantage of our supervised nursery with skilled and loving caregivers. More information is available at the Welcome Center in the main lobby.

As you enter the Worship Center…

… ushers are available to assist you should you have any questions or special needs regarding seating or other general questions. Should special needs arise during the service, feel free to go to an usher to request assistance.  As a first-time visitor to First Baptist Port Charlotte, you are our guest. We don't expect you to contribute in the offering. Feel free to sit back and relax as the offering plate is passed.

During each service…

… we welcome our first time guests. We won't put you on the spot or call you to the front. We will provide you with any information you need and we just ask that you fill out and turn in our "Connection Card" to help us keep record of your visit with us.

Our worship services…

… at First Baptist Port Charlotte we offer three opportunities for you to worship.  Our 8:15 a.m. Traditional Service is a more traditional worship style, with hymns and choir. Our 9:35 a.m. Modern Worship Service is a band driven, uplifting, Spirit-filled worship style. The 11:00 a.m. Blended or Contemporary Worship Service is a more up-beat worship style, with mostly choruses, occasional hymns and choir. Pastor Jim McCarty, will bring the same message, perhaps with a slightly different delivery style. The teaching is relevant, creative and charging.  In all of our worship services, our main focus is that you would come in and be a part of worshiping God, singing to the audience of one.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I get to First Baptist Port Charlotte's Campus?

Please visit our Directions & Map page.

How far in advance should I arrive?

Allow 20 minutes, especially if you are checking in children into their programs.  Each of the services are just over an hour.

What should I wear?

At First Baptist, we encourage you to come as you are. In case you are wondering, most people attend wearing business-casual attire. Don't be surprised if you see few suits and ties, as well as people wearing jeans. God sees our heart and that's what He cares about; it's not about the style of clothing we choose.

What about my kids?

Childcare is provided for Birth-4years at First Baptist Port Charlotte on Sundays and Wednesday evenings. This enables parents to attend both a worship service and Bible Class on Sunday. For children five and older a Bible class time is provided for them when you are attending yours. We offer a safe environment and secure facility.

Our passion to serve means that we are here to serve one another, both in the church, in our community, and in the world. We seek to provide specific opportunities for eveyone to have a place of service.
